Ovington Boats appoint UK Agent for the Musto Skiff

by Rick Perkins, Ovington Boats 3 Aug 2009 12:20 BST 3 August 2009

Ovington Boats are delighted to announce the appointment of Paul Manning as the UK Agent for the Musto Performance Skiff

Following continued growth in Ovington Boats and as a policy decision on a number of classes within the Ovington Boats stable a class specific agent has been appointed in the UK to manage sales of new boats and to provide manufacturer support at key events.

Ovington Boats Managing Director Chris Turner said "At Ovington Boat we focus on the building of world class dinghies and also ensure we are supporting the products at regattas and developing the fleets. The appointment of key agents is critical to this as those agents will be able to spend more time engaged with those classes to support their development. In this case Paul is the perfect candidate as he has a long history working with the class and is well respected by the fleet."

Paul has been involved with the class from its inception and is also the secretary of the class association.

Paul said “Its great to have an active role in the class, most people know me and I’m at all the major UK regattas and as many open meetings as I can attend. To be able to combine the role as the Ovington Agent with my duties as the class secretary will give me a two pronged approach to supporting this very fast growing class”

Paul will run a demo boat as the UK dealer and will be able to organise demos for prospective new Musto Performance Skiff owners; if any sailors wish to demo the boat they can contact Paul via the class website.

Musto Skiff Class Association Chairman Simon Reynolds said "The Musto Performance Skiff class is delighted that Ovington Boats have appointed Paul as the UK agent. The class association wishes Paul every success in this new role and expects to see new sail numbers clicking up at even faster rates".
