11:30 - 470 Women - Race 8 Finish

Nike Kornecki & Vered Buskila from Israel have won with Fernanda Oliveira & Isabel Swan from Brazil second. Christina Bassadone & Saskia Clark finish third. That's it for the day.

11:28 - Yngling Update

Sarah Ayton, Sarah Webb & Pippa Wilson are being interviewed live by the BBC. They're guaranteed of at least a silver medal going into tomorrow's medal race. Pippa Wilson's comment, "bring it on!"

11:23 - 470 Women - Race 8 Update

Christina & Saskia have dropped to 3rd at the final windward mark. Nike Kornecki & Vered Buskila from Israel are leading with Fernanda Oliveira & Isabel Swan are second.

11:14 - Laser Radial - Race 4 Finish

Gintare Volungeviciute from Lithuania has won race 4 moving her up to second overall. Anna Tunnicliffe has retained her lead overall after finishing 5th.

11:14 - Laser Radial - Race 4 Update

Penny Clark is going into the final run in 21st place. The race is being led by Mateja Petronijevic from Croatia with Gintare Volungeviciute from Lithuania in second.

11:11 - 470 Women - Race 8 Update

Christina Bassadone & Saskia Clark have held 2nd down the run. The race is being led by Fernanda Oliveira & Isabel Swan from Brazil.

11:07 - RS:X Men - Race 5 Finish

Nick Dempsey has won race 5! This puts him up to third overall.

10:58 - 470 Women - Race 8 Update

Christina Bassadone & Saskia Clark have rounded the windward mark 2nd.

10:53 - RS:X Men - Race 5 Update

Nick Dempsey has moved up to 2nd at the leeward mark. Things are not so good for Bryony Shaw - it looks like she was caught OCS.

10:49 - Laser - Race 4 Finish

Paul Goodison has won the race and with it has taken the lead overall! He's currently tied on points with Rasmus Myrgren from Sweden. World champion Tom Slingsby's shocking regatta continues.

10:43 - 470 Women - Race 8 Start

The sequence has started - looks like racing is going to go on until it gets dark.

10:42 - Laser Radial - Race 4 Update

Penny Clark has rounded the windward mark in 16th.

10:41 - Laser - Race 4 Update

Paul Goodison is continuing to hold his lead at the final windward mark.

10:40 - Tornado - Race 1 Finish

Fernando Echavarri & Anton Paz Blanco from Spain have won the first race. The British team of Leigh McMillan & Will Howden have finished 6th - a solid start.

10:35 - Finn - Update

Ben Ainslie is talking to Shirley Roberton live on the BBC. Ben Ainslie is guaranteed of at least silver medal going into tomorrow's medal race. Only Zach Railey can catch Ben and he's 12 points behind.

10:33 - RS:X - Race 5 Start

Racing has started for the men and women.

10:31 - 470 Men - Race 7 Update

Not good news from this course, Nick Rogers & Joe Glanfield are in 19th.

The BBC coverage has stopped for the day.

10:26 - Laser - Race 4 Update

Paul Goodison has moved into the lead at the leeward mark!

10:22 - Star - Race 1 Finish

Poland & Ireland have squeezed in front of the Brits - their early gybe didn't pay off as the wind came in from the right. 7th in the first race for Iain Percy & Andrew Simpson.

10:22 - Star - Race 1 Finish

Freddie Loof and Anders Ekstrom from Sweden have won the first race. The German team have finished second ahead of Portugal with New Zealand 4th.

10:19 - 470 Women - Race 7 Finish

Christina Bassadone & Saskia Clark have finish the race in 8th. This puts them in 10th overall.

10:14 - Laser Men - Race 4 Update

Paul Goodison has moved up to 3rd at the leeward mark. If positions stay as they are Paul will move into the lead overall!

10:11 - 470 Women - Race 7 Update

Christina Bassadone & Saskia Clark have rounded the final windward mark in tenth.

10:07 - Star - Race 1 Update

Freddie Loof and Anders Ekstrom have lost their lead at the final windward mark to the team from Portugal. Iain Percy & Bart Simpson have moved up to third, just squeezing in front of the Polish team.

10:05 - Tornado - Race 1 Update

The British team are in 6th at the final windward mark. The Greek team have maintained their lead. We can see the Tornados flying around the course in the background of the BBC Star coverage. The BBC are scheduled to cover race 2 of the Tornados straight after the Star race has finished.

9:59 - 470 Men - Race 7 Update

Nick Rogers & Joe Glanfield have rounded the windward mark in 14th. Work to do here!

9:57 - Star - Race 1 Update

Looking at the BBC coverage it shows the leading four Stars going up the beat which includes the British pair of Iain & Bart. They've all got yellow stars on their mainsails - this means they've all won the Star worlds in the past.

9:56 - Yngling - Race 8 Finish

The Dutch team of Mandy Mulder, Annemieke Bes & Merel Witteveenhave have won. Sarah Ayton, Sarah Webb & Pippa Wilson have finished fifth leaving them with a 1 point lead over the Dutch overall...

9:54 - Finn - Race 8 Finish

Ben Ainslie has finished 2nd. If this is their only race today (the likely scenario) then this guarantees Ben at least a silver medal - though I think he'd regard that as failure!

9:51 - Star - Race 1 Update

Freddie Loof and Anders Ekstrom from Sweden have rounded the leeward mark first. It looks like Iain & Bart have rounded 5th. The windward mark has been moved to the left for the new wind.

9:48 - Yngling - Race 8 Update

The Brits have dropped to sixth at the second windward mark. Their main rivals, the Dutch team are still in first. Can Sarah, Sarah & Pippa find something extra on the final run to the finish?

9:45 - Tornado - Race 1 Update

The Greek team have rounded the windward mark first in the Big Ts. Leigh McMillan and Will Howden have rounded 7th.

9:43 - Laser - Race 4 Start

The men are into their start sequence on course area C.

9:38 - Star - Race 1 Update

Brazilian Robert Scheidt has rounded the windward mark 4 minutes behind the leader. It looked like they were leading early on in the race but they were the wrong side of the left shift.

9:39 - Finn - Race 8 Update

Ben has dropped to 2nd but, perhaps more importantly, Zach Railey has dropped to 19th. It's just the run down to the finish now.

9:38 - Star - Race 1 Update

Freddie Loof and Anders Ekstrom have rounded the windward mark first. Iain Percy and Andrew 'Bart' Simpson are fourth.

9:35 - Tornado - Race 1 Start

Racing has started and the Tornados have flown up the beat. They're up with the Stars at the windward mark!

9:32 - Star - Race 1 Update

Big shift to the left. It looks like the Swedish team of Freddie Loof and Anders Ekstrom will lead at the windward mark. The good news is that Iain & Bart went left and are in the leading bunch. I think the leaders have cracked off a bit on port for the windward mark.

9:30 - Yngling - Race 8 Update

The Dutch have extended their lead at the leeward mark. The British trio have dropped to 3rd.

9:29 - 470 Women - Race 7 Update

Christina Bassadone & Saskia Clark have rounded the windward mark in 8th. The race is being lead by Nike Kornecki & Vered Buskila from Israel.

9:26 - Star - Race 1 Update

This is shifty. The group of 8 that went right look to be way ahead but the left pack (which includes Iain & Bart might just have got a lift on port. It's going to be really tricking to call this one until they round the first mark. This could be a rollercoaster of a race.

9:19 - Star - Race 1 Start

The regatta has started for the Stars! All clear - the Irish team just squeezed around the pin end committee boat. A great start for Iain Percy & Andrew Simpson who had space and speed on the line. The fleet is mostly heading for the right hand side of the course.

9:18 - Finn - Race 8 Update

Ben has held his lead down the run while Zach Railey has dropped out of the top six.

9:15 - Yngling - Race 8 Update

Sarah Ayton, Sarah Webb & Pippa Wilson have rounded the windward mark second, just behind their closest rivals, the Dutch crew of Mandy Mulder, Annemieke Bes & Merel Witteveen. The wind is up to 13 knots now.

9:14 - Star - Race 1 Start

The postponement flag has been dropped. Racing should start in 6 minutes.

9:06 - Star - Race 1 Start

Argh! The start sequence has been postponed. It's definitely not due to a lack of wind so I presume the wind has shifted considerably.

9:04 - Finn - Race 8 Update

Ben Ainslie has rounded the windward mark in first! His closest rival Zach Railey is in 5th.

9:03 - Star - Race 1 Start

The 5 minute gun has just gone for the Star class. Iain Percy & Andrew Simpson's 2008 Olympic campaign is about to begin.

9:00 - Update

The harbour entrance is a flurry of activity as the Lasers and RS:X are sent out. Shirley Robertson & Richard Simmonds have started their BBC commentary - they're currently laughing at the graphic of the Star class which shows the boat with a spinnaker!

8:58 - Update

The Finns, Ynglings and 470 Women have started racing.

8:53 - Update

The Stars are fully hiking upwind too. The wind is between due North & 10 degrees according to the race officer.

8:44 - Update

The Tornados are having a blast - I think they've had enough of waiting around. The wind is coming from over the regatta centre out into the bay, then there's a good breeze for a few hundred yards until it switches off. Hopefully this will fill across to the other race courses and become stable enough for racing soon.

8:34 - Update

The wind is in! The Tornados are happily twin-wiring upwind and flying a hull downwind. Let's hope they get the course set and the racing underway as this is the best wind the venue as seen yet and could make it look exciting!

8:25 - Update

The wind seems to be coming in at the Bay of Fushan. The Stars and Tornados are out on Course A (the show course) and will be covered by the BBC if and when racing gets underway. The flags at the Olympic Sailing Centre are fluttering well - what are they made of?
