Six Buzzes turned up for the annual Langstone open and got themselves rigged ready for the 1.00 start.

In the first race 763 was leading at the top mark closely followed by 1027. This remained the same throughout this race with 585 just clinching third from 918.

In the second race 763 was once again off to a flying start and won this race followed by 1004 and 1027.

The third race set off and this time 918 was first round the windward mark with 763 in close pursuit, 763 managed to overtake on the run and the leeward mark order was 763, 918 and 585. Up the beat and the order changed again with the windward order being 763 918 ad 1027 the fleet separated there with half choosing opposite sides of the course and the final order was 763, 1027 and 1004 just clinching third from 585.

That night and some of the fleet joined others for a great meal in The Ship Inn followed by some cheap beer in LSC.

The following day and the fleet launced into 16-18 knots gusting 22. The fleet set off on a different course to the previous day which was explained FULLY by the RO. The race was going well until five out of the six competitors decided to follow the leader and go the wrong way so 585 headed off the right way which alerted 763 who followed this and gave them both a lead with 763 just leading. After realising their mistake the rest followed. The final finishing order was 763 in first and 918 and 1027 took second and third after 585 capsized on the final leg.

The last race was just as entertaining as the first with the downwind legs a slalom between capsized Buzzes, ISOs and l2s. The final finishing order was 779, 918 and 763 after 585 capsized again on the final leg.

The Buzzes would like to thank Langstone for a super open and great buffet after sailing.
