Hyde Sails have appointed Eduardo Van Zeller as their distributor for Portugal. A keen sailor, Eduardo has worked in sail making for several years and has run his own company since 2000. Eduardo’s loft, Sail Fix, is located in Lisbon Doca-Pesca, close to Portugal’s key yachting areas. Sail Fix has invested in the latest long arm, heavy duty machinery and a good team of people to provide the best repair and service centre in the area.
Hyde Sales & Marketing Director, Richard Franks commented “Hyde Sails are growing its distributor network throughout Europe and this is a key appointment in a busy, expanding market.”
Portugal’s Boat park is between 35,000 and 55,000 recreational craft and it is spread over 1,793 km of coastline. There is also significant boating on Portugal’s inland lakes and rivers.
An indication of how the market is expanding is the fact that the ISAF Worlds are being hosted in nearby Cascais, where 1200 sailors will be competing in a series of events. Sail Fix will be on hand to support the many competitors.
One of Sail Fix’s first big orders was a main sail for a Portuguese Navy 60ft sail training yacht Vega. This will be delivered in July and is a prestigious order for the team.
Hyde Sails is currently looking to recruit a network of distributors throughout Europe.
