Fine weather and sea breezes of up to F4 made for an enjoyable weekend hosted by HISC.
On Saturday's windward-leeward course in Hayling Bay, Tim Dickinson and Larrikin (HISC) won two out of three close races, to lead the day from Andy Norman and Kerching (Christchurch SC).
Sunday's 16 mile passage race took the competitors out of the bay towards the Nab and Bembridge. Larrikin led from the club-line start in Chichester Harbour and had built a two minute lead on Kerching at the penultimate mark. A tight reach to the harbour entrance saw Kerching close the gap, and in an exciting duel to the club-line finish, Kerching got through to win the race and the series.
Overall Results:
1st Kerching, Andy Norman (Christchurch SC)
2nd Larrikin, Tim Dickinson (HISC)
3rd Yogi, Henio Firley (Poole YC)
4th Nimrod, Richard Payne (Porchester SC)
5th Kissy Wissy, Richard Stewart (Christchurch SC)
