Dubarry becomes Official Marine Footwear Supplier to record breaking yachtswoman, Dee Caffari and the Aviva Ocean Race Campaign

Marine footwear specialist Dubarry of Ireland has announced that it is to become the Official Marine Footwear Supplier to record breaking yachtswoman Dee Caffari, and the Aviva Ocean Race campaign.

Having become the first woman in history to circumnavigate the globe single-handed against the prevailing winds and currents in 2006, Dee is set to continue testing her skill and endurance by competing in the Vendee Globe 2008 round the world yacht race - seen by many as the ultimate in ocean racing.

Throughout the duration of the race, Dee will travel on her own across 21,600 miles of ocean, often battling against extreme and dangerous racing conditions in an Open 60 class yacht – one of the fastest boats known to the world of sailing.

Dee’s move into the world of Open 60 racing will see her competing in her training boat Aviva through a series of races in 2007 and then on her newly built boat in 2008 leading up to and including the Vendee Globe. During each race, Dee and her crew will be wearing Dubarry’s marine footwear, renowned for its unrivalled performance and quality on the water.
