Although Day 3 of the European Skiff Grand Prix started much the same as the previous day when a perfect 15knots kicked in, there were no breaks in the clouds or the rain and the breeze was not allowed to fill. The Race Comittee held the fleet on the shore but had to relunctantly call it a day and wrap up the championship. This left the overnight leaders, Pindar Radii, claiming the top of podium with General Electric from the UK, and the Italian team Elcotec to take up the runners up positions.
This was the first round of the 5 event European Grand Prix. Next up is the week long event at Campione on Lake Garda in mid June - this promises to be the highlight of the season with the top European teams pitted against the best from down under and the US. Andy Richards, skipper of Pindar Radii commented "This has been a great start to the European season for us. Our new North rig performed very well and the guys pulled out all the stops going round the course yesterday to clinch the top place. We're now really looking forward to Garda and hope we can give that a good go".
