Nine mirrors including five visitors arrived for the third round of the NE travellers, in what could only be described as wintery conditions. The race officer commented on the fact it was unusually windy for a Mirror event at the club.

In race 1 Eloise and Kayleigh Hansen (Covenham) were first to the windward mark pulling out an impressive lead from singlehander Tim Gatti (Yeadon), Inge-lisa Hansen with Mathew Kiddle (Covenham) and local singlehander John Chapman. The conditions were very testing resulting in only six finishers, John losing out on fourth place to another local singlehander S Lee.

By race two the winds were stronger Eloise was first to the windward mark followed by Tim, only Eloise and Kayleigh opted to fly the spinnaker. Despite a capsize Tim held on to finish second followed by S Lee then L Cope and M Cope (SCYC) these were the only four to finish.

In race 3 the squalls had subsided temporarily, Tim opted for a different side of the beat getting to the windward mark in front of Eloise the lead then swapped several times until Eloise drew out a lead on the second beat in the strengthening winds. Inge-lisa was battling for second place when Tim capsized meaning he finished fourth behind S Lee, again only four finished.

Everybody enjoyed the excellent food and hospitality of the club.
