Race Development Course - Special Offer from Sailing Logic
by Sailing Logic Racing 15 Mar 2007 09:48 GMT
Sailing Logic Racing has introduced a new course to their successful race training programme. The ‘Race Development’ course is aimed at an intermediate level and bridges the gap between the ‘Introduction to Racing’ course and the more advanced ‘Race to Win’ course.
Using two competitive Reflex 38 racing yachts, Philippe Falle will lead the course using some of the most experienced racing sailors in the Solent. The ‘Race Development’ course is an excellent way to learn new skills and improve all round racing experience to a higher level. Two racing yachts training together will provide an ideal learning platform whilst introducing a competitive and fun element to the training.
The Race Development course is carefully structured to encourage a progressive development of everyone’s racing knowledge and skills. It will concentrate on starting techniques, upwind performance, mark roundings, kite hoists, kite drops, gybing, downwind performance and the basic rules.
Time will specifically be spent on the different types of kite hoists and drops whilst explaining when and why they would be used. By the end of the five days everyone will be familiar with all the positions aboard a race boat and the interaction required between the members of the team. There is a big emphasis on teamwork and the role of each crew member. The course is predominantly practical but there will be an element of class work looking at the principles and theory of racing.
This course is perfect for anyone who has done a small amount of racing or even Sailing Logic’s Introduction to Racing course and wants to develop their skills further. If you feel that you want to gain a better overall understanding of racing and all the manoeuvres then this course is ideal.
The ‘Race Development’ course normally retails at £495.00 but Yachts and Yachting readers are entitled to a 15% discount on the first course.
