The competitors were greeted by a flat calm and sunshine on the 12th April however race officer insisted there would be some wind. Four races were completed by all competitors who ranged from the ages of 8 to 16.

In Race 1 James and Charlotte Parker-Mowbray shot off the line in their Optimists rounding the first mark just behind the laser of Robbie Spargo. The Parker_Mobrays were soon caught by Stuart Dando and Mark Billowes also in Optimists and Suzanne Stephens and Lynn Billowes in toppers and they all proceeded down the second reach in close company. Charlotte, obviously not happy with her younger brother’s boat speed, luffed him making him do a 720. James Askew and Richard Pepperdine had to aggressively defend their slim lead over Chris Latham and Tom Key (both sailing Enterprises) at the final two mark roundings. James and Richard won on corrected time from Robbie in 2nd and Chris and Tom in third.

Race two became a procession as the breeze swung limiting place changes. James Parker_Mobray led the Optimists by a clear margin and won on corrected time. James and Richard were second in the Enterprise with Charlotte in third.

In race 3 Robbie rounded the windward mark in first place but was closely followed by Chris and Tom and James and Richard. The two Enterprises were locked in an exciting match race for the rest of the race which allowed Robbie to pull ahead to take line honours. Charlotte pulled ahead of the boys in the Optimists winning the race on handicap from Chris and Tom and James and Richard.

Stuart Dando sailed well to win race 4 from James and Richard in second and Charlotte in third.

James Askew and Richard Pepperdine had done just enough to win from Charlotte Parker-Mowbray in her optimist and Chris Latham and Tom Key in the second Enterprise. Lynn Billowes received a prize for the first visitor and James Parker_Mowbray for being the youngest competitor.
