Thrilling Season Opener at Frampton on Severn Sailing Club Sailability Sets the Stage for Hansa Class UK 2025!

The 2025 Hansa UK season kicked off with a burst of adrenaline at Frampton Sailability's first TT event on April 23rd, where sailors battled unpredictable gusts and shifting winds under a moody, cloud-strewn sky. Four fleets—2.3, 303 Singles, 303 Doubles, and Liberty—charged into action, marking the start of what promises to be a fiercely competitive year.

The Liberty fleet saw an unexpected twist as world champion Rory McKinna, fresh off his victory in Sydney, swapped his class for the Liberty fleet while remaining in his 303—a bold move to test his skills.

Lynn and Stuart Swan had a clean sweep of Hansa 303 double victories, carrying on from last season and setting the tone as the number one doubles pair.

Meanwhile, seasoned sailor Mike Everitt flipped the script by joining the Liberty fleet, sparking a thrilling reshuffle in the 303 Singles. Mike won in the Liberty class.

Logan Bell (Rutland) seized his moment, clinching his first TT win with tactical precision honed on Sydney's famed Pittwater. After dominating the morning races, Logan held firm against the day's capricious winds, proving his world championship momentum was no fluke.

The 2.3 fleet was won by Lindsey Burns.

Hansa UK honoured Frampton Sailability for their unwavering hospitality, But the day carried a bittersweet note as David Greenfield announced this season would be his last after 25 years of dedication.

As the fleets packed up, one thing was clear: with rivalries heating up and new talent rising, the 2025 Hansa season is set to be a good one.

Stay tuned — more TT results from New Forest TT to follow.
