Peter Schofield’s HOD 35 Zarafa clocked her third successive win in brilliant conditions for the Lymington Town Sailing Club’s Solent Circuit race.

With a flood tide and northerly wind the first beat to Pylewell was a puzzle. With nobody taking the option of a port tack flyer on the biased start line the fleets split with no discernible advantage to either those who went out to gain tidal advantage or those who went inshore.

Michael White’s dominance in the Folkboats came to an abrupt end when he hit a buoy and Peter Mills retired his Dehler 36 after hitting a folkboat.
