35 Visitors joined 6 club boats for the final round of the Nationwide and East Area Traveller Series at Haversham. The weather man had got his sums right and the forecast light breeze materialised, accompanied by glorious warm sunshine to bring a smile to the faces of the spectators, if not the competitors.

Race officer Barrie Lyman set a course to use as much of the lake as possible. The first race saw Adam Fox pull out a large lead over the rest of the fleet, but this was slowly whittled away by Louis McVeigh and Robert Spencer who both passed him just before the finish, with Matt Undrell coming in 4th. Race 2 was sailed back to back, and this time Thomas Gillard, Rob Partridge, and Matt Undrell battled all round the course for the top 3 places which finally saw Undrell take 1st from Gillard then Partridge.

After a late lunch the competitors re-launched for back to back races 3 & 4. Race 3 saw McVeigh back in the top 3 along with Gillard and Undrell and after some close racing they finished Gillard, McVeigh, Undrell. It was now all down to the last race with McVeigh, Gillard and Undrell all able to take the meeting. In a dying wind the race officer went for a one lap race and the 3 contenders, along with Robert Spencer, rounded the first mark in the first 4 places. McVeigh and Gillard opened up a small lead over Undrell and Spencer, and these pairs of boats then battled it out over the rest of the course. At the end McVeigh managed to take the race and with it the event from Gillard with Undrell 3rd and Spencer 4th.
