Satellite tracking of Lord Howe to Gosford returnees.

Competitors in the Gosford to Lord Howe race are now scattered across the Pacific Ocean as most of the fleet are taking advantage of the weekend to start back to their home ports.

The battery powered satellite tracking units have been remotely switched from 10 minutes reports down to 8 hourly. These three reports each day conserve battery power.

After Delta Wing, which retired on the first night, Berrimilla was the next boat back, having turned back to Sydney about 100 miles short of the Island with rigging damage.

The Star track units, are displaying the boat positions on the sail-world.com GPS tracking page.

The classic wooden sloop Fidelis is now back in Sydney, AFR Midnight Rambler, Scoundrel, Kotamatsu Blue Lady, Polaris of Belmont are strung out over some 200 miles. Eureka & Grasshopper are still parked at Lord Howe Island.
