HOT HATS LEAGUE!
Summer is here and in this weather no sensible sailor ventures out without a cap and sunnies.
To celebrate this we are looking at the top caps, sun hat, and sunglasses available for sailors.
1st place, P&B’s best selling summer headwear is the Zhik Visor. Uber cool, it keeps the sun off the face without heating your head.
2nd and my favourite is the Musto fast dry crew cap. It comes in a multitude of colours, clips on to your sailing kit so it’s hard to lose and even if you dunk it, it dries in minutes!
3rd and the top one for yachtsmen and women is the Musto fast dry brimmed hat. This number keeps you cool in the shade all day.
HOT SUNNIES!
When it comes to sunglasses we love the Gill and Gul offerings. These sunglasses do exactly what every sailor needs. They feature hydrophobic and eleophobic coatings to repel and shed water, salt residue and oils. The 100% glare free polarised lenses specifically designed for use on the water, protecting your eyes and helping you to see those cats paws in the light summer zephyrs and best of all if they do get dropped in the drink they float.
1st our best sellers so far this year are the Gill Racing Sunglasses. Designed to keep the sun and spray at bay they come with a strap that keeps them firmly in the right place however rough the conditions. More a statement of intent than of fashion!
2nd The Gill Tactic sunglasses look the business which is why we love them. Available in three colours they look and perform brilliantly.
3rd Gul CZ Pro sunnies. The Gul sunnies are light, tough and flexible. They come with a case and floating retainer strap making them a great deal.
KIT of the WEEK!
Each week one of the P&B team will be looking into their kit bag and giving us an item that they simply wouldn't sail without!
Oliver has made kit of the week the Gill Wetsuit Shorts as they offer a combination of warmth, cushioning and protection when hiking out up wind! They can also be used for layering and in the warm weather worn on their own with a rash vest and or spray top, the shorts also convert to performance hikers using the Gill Performance Hiking Pads. The shorts are an essential for the unpredictable British weather keeping him warm, cool and comfortable, a great all round must have in the mid summer weather and definitely going in the kit bag for Salcombe week!
