Larks at the Waldringfield Easter Egg

With a Chocolate Egg for every competitor, not to mention pretty much anyone else who happened to be at the prize giving, waistlines and waterlines are likely to be heading in opposite directions in Suffolk this Easter.

The Larks enjoyed six egg-cellent races on the River Deben, with the local fleet welcoming Pete Gray and Rachel Rhodes all the way from Staunton Harold. Mastering Waldringfield can prove challenging for visiting sailors but Pete and Rach seemed to have little problem, and had it not been for some mislaid keys which caused them to miss the start of race 4, they might well have done better than a very credible 3rd overall. First overall was contested by Alan Krailing and Joe Hunt and Steve Videlo and Maddie Harris. The result came down to a match race between the two in race 4 and a 3 way battle with Pete and Rach in race 5. Alan and Joe won through by millimetres in both which was enough to take the win.

A big thank you must go to all those who made the event a success, in particular James Skellorn and the rest of his race management crew.
