DUSTING DOWN THE SCORPION MOULD!

This week the workshop team have switched their focus away from the Solo to make a start on the first in house built Scorpion. P&B have a long running history with the Scorpion supplying championship winning packages for many years, moving the build in house has been the next step in continued support to the class, giving us maximum control of supplying boats to the high standard of finish association with the P&B brand.

With solo orders to fulfil and a full workshop, P&B South’s team will work on the first Scorpion alongside other orders with a view to the first boat hitting the water in December. With a number of interested parties all looking to purchase a new boat, we plan to build orders from January so if you are looking to purchase a new boat now is the time to contact Oli Wells via email.

WINNER OPTIMIST
I’m pleased to report that once again we have a display model of the Winner Optimist in store, the much admired 3D Star is the design used to win the 2013 World Championships. If you are looking to purchase a new boat then come down and see the team and discuss the rig, sail and foil options we offer. This week the weather has been pretty unpredictable, we’ve had some of everything but with the sudden drop in temperature its been enough to get me digging out my winter kit. So what’s good?

Drysuits – We have a wide range of drysuits in store for men, women and kids. My personal favourite which also gets the thumbs up from Adrian is the Gul Shadow, this is a great quality suit, very light to wear and also has a highly flexible plastic zip which is a lot less restrictive. I have tried winter wetsuits and having come back to drysuits about 5 years ago never looked back, the advancements in weight and fit mean they are now not only incredibly warm but also no more restrictive than a thick wetsuit.

Winter Wetsuits – This year I have switched to the Zhik Superwarm Steamer and it is an instant favourite. A lot of thought has gone into the product and the warmth and fit is a level above the rest. The suit boasts a reinforced bum, knees and shins for protection whilst sailing. Just in stock is the new Gul Profile CZ which they have designed specifically for the dinghy market and available in men and womens sizes, with many of the same features as the Zhik suit and at a fantastic price this one is well worth checking out. Also in store we have a range of 2013 winter wetsuits from Gul discounted at 25% so a great chance to grab a bargain.

Layering Systems – Thermal rash vests, spray tops, dry tops, wetsuit socks, woolly hats and gloves.
