Vote for East Anglian Sailing Trust

by Bill Smith 12 Nov 2010 07:35 GMT

The East Anglian Sailing Trust (EAST) at Suffolk Yacht Harbour, have reached the final of this year's Big Lottery - People's Millions on Anglia TV. This chance to receive £50,000 funding is great news in a time when major cutbacks are the order of the day for so many small charities.

EAST's project, to transform an old redundant building into a new Waterside Community Centre will provide EAST ‘s growing number of disabled sailors with a new headquarters which will further enhance the facilities at SYH.

EAST now goes head to head on Anglia TV with another worthy project outside of Suffolk and the winner is the one with the highest number of telephone votes. The TV cameras filmed EAST on Wednesday when the weather was just right!

The film will be broadcast on Monday 22 November on Anglia TV between 6.00 and 6.30pm.

You can help EAST win on that day by phoning in your votes from both landlines and mobiles. The cost is 10p from a BT landline and may be higher from other networks and mobiles. You can vote 10 times from each phone you have and the lines will be open between 0900 and midnight on 22 November.

The telephone number is not revealed until the day of the vote but if you would like to help EAST then there are a number of ways you can find out the number other than by watching the programme itself, especially if you are outside the Anglia TV reception area!

  • On November 22 the voting number will be posted on EAST's website.
  • Or phone EAST’s low cost 0333 088 3278 enquiry hotline on November 22 to get the voting phone number.
  • If you read the Daily Mirror the voting phone number should be available in their November 22nd edition

Many thanks in anticipation from EAST’s Trustees and disabled sailors.
