On 7th and 8th June, a large fleet of Dart 18 catamarans assembled at Snettisham Beach Sailing Club, for the 3rd round of the National Dart 18 Grand Prix series. The list of competitors included the recently crowned National Champions David and Sam Lloyd from Portsmouth, and past World Champion, Gareth Owen from the Wirral.

The racing took place on an Olympic course set just off Snettisham Beach in light variable winds on the Saturday and in pleasant force 2 to 3 southerlies on the Sunday.

From the five races completed over the two days there were two local race winners. Guy Playford and Luke Fletcher stormed through to win race 4, and past National and European champions Jasper and Laura Barnham continued their form to win race 3 and race 5. These results contributed to yet another championship win for the Barnhams, followed by Gareth Owen in 2nd place and David Lloyd 3rd.

For a complete listing of results and pictures visit SBSC website at www.snetbeach.co.uk. The excellent weekend racing together with Saturday night's Caribbean themed evening on the Club balcony, saw the completion of another successful Dart 18 Grand Prix event at Snettisham Beach.
