JOG - Cowes to Weymouth Race

The JOG Cowes to Weymouth race on Saturday 20th July started in a gentle South West breeze and warm morning.
Class 5 first away on the beat down the Western Solent towards the Needles saw Misty getting a good start along with Dragonstar and Alchemist - who then accelerated away in the light.
In Class 4 Zarifa got the best start, port tacking across the fleet from the beach end, and crossing the leaders Annokia and Dick Dastardly fairly comfortably. In Class 3, a slightly line shy fleet crossed in the dying breeze with Intuition getting the start from Genie.
A tactical race the whole way, with the breeze increasing and veering to the North West made hugging the shore after St Albans a must.
