After the lack of wind on Tuesday afternoon the racing started in a fresh westerly. After a general recall those that chose the left hand side appeared to lose out to the rest of the fleet that were being lifted on the right. However the wind started to die at that end and half the fleet including yesterday's winners Goacher/Evans 3721 were stranded and unable to catch up with those who either hugged the shore or who tacked back to the left.

At the windward mark the newest boat in the class Jeremy Davey & Norman Byrd led from Barry & Sue Parkin and Brett & Ben Dingwall 3603. The reach was tight and the Dingwalls by not flying their kite were able to round the second mark just ahead as Davey (3760), also without kite, attacked Parkin (3630).

The wind started to freshen again and after a long run with Parkin keeping high Dingwall was able to maintain his lead .The front boats kept to the shore for the last beat although others in the middle gambled by tacking to the right hand side as the wind eased again. Dingwall, Parkin and Charles Apthorp 3591 all rounded the last windward mark together just behind the leading boats of the Classic Fleet who had sailed a separate course. Parkin gybed and went low and with a better line to the final mark got ahead of Dingwall, and maintained his lead to the line despite a fast finish by Dingwall. Apthorp was third. Championship leader Goacher ended well down the fleet in 15th position.

In the Classic event the leading two boats established a comfortable lead over the rest of the fleetwith David Hill & Johnny Armstrong IRL671 taking line honours ahead of Peter Hogg/David Downs 759 and Graham Lamond/Scott Train 617 in third place. The real contest was for fourth place as the two fleets combined for the final two legs with David & Carole Duke 2646 holding off Roger Finch/Neil Bartholomey 2658 in a tight finish.
