Royal Southampton Yacht Club Twilight Series Overall

Forty two yachts competed in the Royal Southampton YC's Thursday evening Twilight Series. The fleet ranging from a Gem 18 footer to an Oyster 48 enjoyed a 10-race series.

In Class 1 X-yachts 332's dominated with Mike Garvey's X-Parrot winning the last race to clinch the series victory by one point from sistership Xcitable (Peter Bromley), Ed Holton's J110 Shades of Blue II was third on equal points to Xcitable.

Class 2 saw Steve Sault's Sigma 33 win the last race to ensure series victory over Tony Hanfrey's Mustang 30 Respect. Eddie Lee's Sigma 33 Skybird was third.

In Class 3 Cuan Marsh's Bolero Question of Balance had dominated the series so thoroughly that he was able to retire from the last race and still win by seven points overall from Mark Cartwright's ¼ tonner Murphy's Law, with Sadler 29 Zumbido of Michael Hibberd third.

The Multihull Class saw Dragonfly 800 Scooby III win from Martin Bosher's Farrier F25C Piglet.

The promised easterly kicks in just in time After a day off for no wind and a wonderful party sponsored by Hiscox and James Hallam insurers, quite a few of the fleet were grateful for a delay today. The short series has now concluded, with nine of the 12 scheduled races completed Today dawned bright and sunny with a northerly breeze that faded during the morning as the land heated up, but a stable sea breeze failed to materialise, forcing racing for all classes to be abandoned. XOD Captain's Cup at Cowes Week day 3
