Etchells European Championships Overall

Race 4

Bob Bell from the USA clinched the 4th race of the Etchells Europeans in France with a brave long starboard tack to almost the lay line taking him from 10th to 1st with the help of a local shift on his side of the course. Geoff Skinner scored a second and the series leader Poul Richard a third.

Race 5

Once again Bob Bell from the USA won the pin end of the start to lead in the 5th race in the Bay of Douarnenez, chased by Tim Law and Gareth Hardwick. The wind changed in velocity and the direction at the top mark creating a tricky race, Bob Bell sailing with current World Champion Dirk Kneulman played the difficult conditions well to hold on to his second win of the day.

Race 6

With the results showing Poul Richard leading and the American having to win the last race to clinch the title, set for an interesting match. Both boats trying to gain the edge on the start line enabled the fleet to have an edge on them. Poul Richard covered the American well an then started to work back into the fleet rounding 10th at the first mark. On the final run after 2 more laps the current team ranked no 1 in the World collected 2nd place behind Tim Law to give them the Etchells European Title.
