Fishers Green held their annual Solo open on Saturday 31st October under blue skies and sunshine which was fortunate, as the next day gave no wind and cloud.

The start was delayed briefly while the gentle easterly breeze became established and only three races were agreed and sailed back to back in case the wind disappeared early.

Some big shifts caused a few snakes and ladders on the beats with Alan Wright taking a good lead from a big left shift which he held until Jasper Barnham managed to work through for the win. Jasper again, won through in the second race to win from Godfrey Clark with David Cronk third, but in the final heat it was David who found the best pressure to claim the win from Jasper.

The event was the final round of the National Solo Eastern Series, with the trophy and prizes for this, also presented on the day. Brian Morum from Hickling Broad was this seasons Eastern winner on tie-break from Martin Brooking from Hunts SC.
