We got there in the end... Saturday 19th September was meant to be the re-scheduled Christchurch SC Open meeting for the RS Tera Class, postponed due to high winds in June, but then had to move venue due to unforeseen circumstances!

So Netley SC stepped in and brought forward their open and hosted the third round of the RS Tera Southern Traveller Series in some pretty punchy conditions. The forecast leading up to the day was SW 17kts gusting up to mid to high 20s and the forecast did not let us down.

PRO Graeme Willcox set the two fleets four races of windward-leeward courses, keeping the sailors (and parents) on their toes, especially as race 1 started, we saw some of the biggest winds of the day with gusts well into the high 20kts.

In the Pro fleet, Charlie Hunt (Netley SC/Frensham Pond SC) won all four races from Rory Mitchell (FPSC) who sailed brilliantly to take second in each race. Third overall was Tom Murphy (Warsash SC / Hamble River SC).

In the Sport fleet, Bora Carrington (Royal Lymington YC), sailed a near perfect day, winning three of the four races to take first overall with Lucas Hill (RLYC), wining race 3 to secure second with Robby Mayo (Lymington Town SC) sailing very consistently for third.

A big well done to all the sailors for heading out in some challenging conditions and a big thank you to all the volunteers from both clubs (Christchurch and Netley) who managed to get everyone sailing at such short notice, a proper team effort.
