Noble Marine UK Musto Skiff National Championship 2026 at East Lothian Yacht Club - Overall

10-13 September 2026
After three days of big breeze, swell and survival sailing, the final day of the 2026 Noble Marine UK Musto Skiff Nationals couldn't have looked more different. The fleet arrived at the beach to blue skies, sunshine and a much gentler forecast, launching early at 10:00 for the championship decider.
The first race didn't get away cleanly, with an initial general recall followed by the black flag going up. Once racing finally started, the fleet headed away in around 10 knots, but the breeze steadily faded across the course. By the top mark it was down to just 5–8 knots, with the tide becoming the dominant feature of the race.
Eddie Bridle judged the conditions perfectly, sailing through to take the race win ahead of Ewan Wilson and Ben Homer. A special mention also goes to Ben Homer, sailing his first Musto Skiff Nationals and proving that the original pinhead rig is still more than capable of mixing it at the front of the fleet.
As the first race finished, the breeze disappeared completely, leaving the fleet drifting around for the next hour on the racecourse waiting for it to return. Eventually a light breeze filled in, and the race committee got the next race started in around 5 knots.
However, it didn't last, and by the time the fleet reached the top mark, the water had turned to glass. With no prospect of a fair race, the PRO made the sensible decision to abandon and send everyone ashore, bringing the 2026 UK Nationals to a close.
After four days of hugely varied conditions, from survival sailing in 30-knot squalls to drifting in almost no wind, the overall podium was decided, with Eddie Bridle finishing in first place, Rob Richardson in second, and Andy Tarboton in third.
This meant that Eddie Bridle had just won the UK Musto Skiff National Championship for the second year running. Massive congratulations to Eddie on successfully defending the title.
A huge thank you goes to East Lothian Yacht Club for hosting this year's Nationals for the Musto Skiff fleet. In addition, the GBR class was supported by the event title sponsor, Noble Marine Insurance, and class sponsors and partners, Musto and Ovington Boats, who provided a range of fantastic prizes for the winners.
North Berwick once again proved why it is one of the UK's premier sailing venues, and the race team, volunteers and everyone behind the scenes pulled out all the stops to deliver a fantastic championship.
We look forward to seeing the fleet again next year in Eastbourne for our 2027 UK Nationals.
