The participants' enthusiasm has rubbed off on the organisers: "a magnificent regatta", "a demanding and varied course", "a challenge we can only recommend" were the comments from the sailors at the finish line.

Thanks to the dedicated commitment of the lawfirm Tanis von der Mosel, which specialises in water sports, the decision to continue the event was quickly made: the new race around 400 Danish Baltic Sea islands, covering a distance of around 700 nautical miles, will also take place in 2027 - Start on Saturday, 12 June 2027 at 12.00 noon.

The route runs from Kiel to Bornholm and around the Christiansø archipelago, then through the Sound past Malmö and Copenhagen, up to Læsø and back through the Little Belt to Kiel. Depending on weather conditions, the course may also be sailed in the opposite direction.

The record set by 'Rafale' in 2026 - an Elliot 52SS owned by Henri de Bokay, helmed by Klaas Höpke and crew of around 69 hours - is up for grabs; it's achievable, but it won't be easy!

The field of competitors in the inaugural year has shown that thorough preparation, strategic skill and precise navigation are the decisive factors for a successful and enjoyable event.

"The Tanis von der Mosel Race has created a new sporting challenge in offshore sailing, combining Kiel's maritime tradition with modern offshore regatta sport." says head of organisation Ecky von der Mosel of the Kieler Yacht-Club, announcing that the registration portal will open shortly.
