At the halfway point in the 2026 tour, we have a leaderboard with the top scores reading 4,5,6,7,8 and and 8 boats counting a podium finish for at least one event!
Following their win at the Lord Birkett, Hamish Gledhill and Ross Southwell, West Riding SC are in pole position, one point ahead of Hollingworth's Richard and Heather Marsh, with Jon Gorring and Derek, Blackwood and Fleetwood in 3rd.
32 pairs on the score sheet, from 20 clubs, are testament to the ongoing popularity of the RS400 in the North of England, and with older, but highly competitive boats available at very good prices, it's great to see some new young pairs in the fleet.
Northern Tour visitors from the likes of Oxford, Hayling Island, Aberdeen & Stonehaven and Dalgety Bay, illustrate the standard of the racing. As we go into the lead-up to the Noble Marine National Championship, we predict that the top sailors from the Northern contingent will make the headlines, but also want to emphasise that all RS4090 sailors, whether Nationals top 10 or complete newbies are most welcome at all of our events, including the Nationals, where there will be silver fleet and spot prizes to be won.
