The Puig Vela Clàssica Barcelona will return to Barcelona waters from July 8 to 11, 2026 for its 19th edition, firmly established as one of the Mediterranean's leading classic sailing events.

Organised by Puig and the Real Club Náutico de Barcelona (RCNB), the event will once again gather some of the most iconic yachts on the international classic circuit, where competition, heritage and lifestyle come together both on and off the water.

More than 40 yachts from several countries have already confirmed their participation, setting the stage for a highly competitive edition with a diverse international fleet. As in previous years, the regatta will bring together Vintage and Classic yachts alongside Big Boat and Modern Classic classes, reflecting more than a century of yacht design evolution.

Early entries feature yachts such as Eilean, a celebrated Bermudian ketch; Manitou (1937), renowned for its connection to American naval history and the Kennedy family; and Viveka and Halloween, both strong contenders in the large yacht categories. They are joined by vessels such as Dione (launched in 1912) and Adventuress, forming a fleet that combines heritage and sporting pedigree.

Spanish entries will once again have a strong presence, with yachts based in Barcelona and along the Spanish coastline. Entries such as Phidias, Yanira, Bakea, Kahurangi and Islander, among others, reflect the continued strength and consistency of classic sailing in Spain.

The regatta will take place over four days. Official registration and the welcome reception will take place on 8 July, while racing will be held from 9 to 11 July, featuring up to two races per day. The prize-giving ceremony will close the event on the final day.

Beyond racing, the Puig Vela Clàssica Barcelona maintains a strong connection with the city. During the event, Barcelona's coastline serves a natural grandstand, with locations such as Barceloneta, Port Vell and Port Olímpic offering prime viewing points to follow the action at sea.

The regatta is part of the official calendar of the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation and counts towards the Mediterranean International Championship (CIM) and the Mare Nostrum Trophy - Spanish Classic Yacht Cup, reinforcing its status within the international classic sailing circuit.
