4-7 June 2026
The 17th edition of the Cowes Classics Regatta was bought to a close on Sunday as competitors and supporters gathered for the final day of racing.
The event attracted a strong fleet of classic yachts, Spirit of Tradition and one-design classes. Throughout the regatta competitors enjoyed a varied programme of racing, social events and shoreside hospitality, culminating in Sunday's final races, Classic Car Day, Spitfire show and prize-giving.
Following the cancellation of racing on Saturday, the final day had two races scheduled for most fleets, with crews knowing that every position could influence the final standings! Fleets of beautiful classic yachts, Dragons, XODs, Darings, Etchells, Seaview Mermaids and other participating classes were spread across the racing areas, creating an impressive sight both on and off the water.

Cowes Classics Day and Spitfire Display
Beyond the racing, Sunday's Cowes Classics Day, supported by THE MARKET, brought a fantastic atmosphere to Cowes as competitors, visitors and local residents came together to celebrate the final day of the regatta.
A highlight of the day was the display of more than 60 classic cars, which lined the Parade and drew crowds throughout the afternoon. Adding to the spectacle, was a memorable Spitfire display over the Solent.
Competitors, supporters and volunteers then gathered ashore for the regatta's prize-giving, bringing another successful Cowes Classics Regatta to a close.
With the final races complete and prizes awarded, competitors now turn their attention to the remainder of the summer racing calendar, with the RTYC Pre-Cowes Regatta and a busy programme of events in support of North Sail Cowes Week held at the Royal Thames Shoreside clubhouse in conjunction with the Royal London.
The Cowes Classics Regatta thanks the generous support of its partners, including Mermaid Gin, Ratsey & Lapthorn, Red Funnel, THE MARKET, Kendalls Fine Art, Classic Boat, Cowes Town Council, Clare Lallow and Cowes Harbour Commission.
