RS Teras Make a Brilliant Addition to Itchenor's Junior Fleets

by Kendall Massey 6 Jun 10:04 BST

Itchenor Sailing Club is excited to announce the adoption of RS Teras as a new junior class, and their inclusion in the 2027 Itchenor Schools Week.

For the past year, Teras have been gaining traction with ISC families, and, in addition to member boats, the club now owns six Teras for hire. The dynamic young fleet is steadily growing thanks to a full complement of programming.

To help sailors build their confidence and improve their boat handling and racing skills, senior coaches run both RYA and fleet training for all sailing levels, for both members and non-members during school holidays (July, October half-term, Easter, and May half-term). Jake Elsbury and Tom Storey led a four-day training program during this year's May half-term that provided twelve young sailors an outstanding foundation on which to build for the upcoming season. Teras are also now part of the weekly club racing program and Itchenor's annual Junior Fortnight (July 25 to August 8, 2026) — two weeks packed with competitive sailing and socials!

For more informal sailing and catching up with friends on the water, any interested Teras are warmly invited to join Friday night fun sailing. Families are welcome to stay for Chef Danny's Friday night supper!) Taster sessions and private training days are available as well for sailors keen to give Teras a try at other times.

For any additional information on training, Junior Fortnight or informal sailing, please contact the ISC Sailing Manager, Ryan Breach on 01243 512400.

We look forward to welcoming new sailors to Itchenor!
