Heesen Yachts celebrates the christening of Pa'lante

by Heesen Yachts 14 May 12:43 BST

Heesen Yachts announces the official christening of M/Y Pa'lante, previously YN 21055, at the Hotel New York in Rotterdam: a milestone that underscores the shipyard's core strategy of speculative construction built on Dutch pedigree.

  • Hull type: Ultra Efficient Steel Hull
  • Exterior Design: Omega Architects
  • Interior Design: Luca Dini Design and Architecture
  • Length Over All: 55.0 metres
  • Gross Tonnage: Approx. 760 GT
  • Accommodation: 12 guests in 6 staterooms

This approach offers a significant timing advantage, appealing to yacht connoisseurs who value the rare combination of immediate availability and Northern European quality.

Built upon an Ultra Efficient Steel Hull, M/Y Pa'lante benefits from a proven platform supported by Heesen's proprietary database of over 200 vessels, which ensures that direct feedback from the fleet is systematically incorporated into new constructions to enhance reliability and performance. This technical foundation underpins a distinguished lineage of Northern European shipbuilding, providing a balance of 760 GT volume and a compact size that grants access to the exclusive ports of the Mediterranean.

During construction, the project was known as Frida, a name rooted in Nordic tradition symbolising 'peace' and inspired by the artist Frida Kahlo. Through the vision of her owners, the yacht has now embarked on her life as M/Y Pa'lante, a name that reflects a philosophy of encouragement and forward thinking.

M/Y Pa'lante features exterior lines by Omega Architects and a bespoke interior by Luca Dini Design and Architecture. Silvia Margutti, lead architect at the studio, collaborated with Heesen's in-house interior engineering department to tailor the vessel to the owners' lifestyle. The design provides a modern interpretation of maritime heritage, using dark woods in contrast with light tones, with specific locations designed to display a contemporary art collection.

The christening follows flawless performance during sea trials in the North Sea, where the yacht met the highest Lloyd's Register standards. Heesen remains unique in Northern Europe for maintaining total control over naval architecture, steel fabrication, and luxury interior outfitting, ensuring the quality required for a yacht of connoisseurs.

Jeroen van der Meer, Heesen CEO comments: "We are delighted to welcome M/Y Pa'lante to the fleet and her owners to the Heesen family. We wish fair winds and following seas to this beautiful vessel for her maiden season in the Mediterranean. We look forward to her official debut at the Monaco Yacht Show in September."
