RS Aero 9 and RS Vareo National Championships at Paignton Sailing Club - Day 1

The sun was shining across the beautiful waters of Torbay on the first day of the RS Aero 9 National Championships and the RS Vareo National Championships. The warm winds and a gentle 8 to 10 knots easterly breeze provided the perfect backdrop for the start of the championships.
In the RS Aero 9 Nationals, a strong fleet of 17 boats took to the water, and from the first race the standard of racing was extremely tight, with little to separate the leading pack.
The 11 RS Vareo sailors also enjoyed tight racing at the top of the fleet over the 3 races sailed today.
It's all to play for on day 2 and with strong winds forecast for Sunday - it's anyone's championship.
