The Northern Series for the 70th anniversary of iconic Enterprise Dinghy is proudly hosted by Scammonden Water Sailing Club on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th April 2026, with a strong fleet of sailors expected to compete on the dramatic Pennine reservoir.

Racing is scheduled to begin at 1:00pm on Saturday and 11:00am on Sunday, with competitors travelling from clubs across the UK to take part in the opening event of the regional circuit.

Renowned for its challenging sailing conditions and stunning hilltop setting, Scammonden Water provides a spectacular stage for competitive racing. The fleet is expected to include experienced championship sailors alongside enthusiastic club racers, all eager to make an early mark in the Northern Series standings.

The event is proudly supported by local sponsors The Hogs Head Brew House and Flowhire Ltd whose backing helps make the event possible and supports grassroots sailing at the club. GVA - Green Valley Arborists also kindly provided support in event preparations.

While the sailing will be closed to members of the public, the club warmly encourages visitors to enjoy a walk around the reservoir and watch the racing unfold from the surrounding paths. The elevated viewpoints around the water offer excellent vantage points to see the colourful fleet of Enterprises battling it out in the wind and waves.

The club also welcomes local photographers and sailing enthusiasts to capture the action. Anyone sharing images on social media should tag Scammonden Water Sailing Club so the best moments from the weekend can be shared with the wider sailing community.

For those inspired by what they see on the water, the club will be hosting a public open day on Saturday 16th May, offering visitors the chance to meet members and even try their hand at sailing an Enterprise Dinghy and other club boats.

With competitive racing, spectacular scenery and some of the countries finest Enterprise sailors in attendance, the Northern Series opener promises to be an exciting start to the 2026 season at Scammonden Water.
