World Boating Day has launched #WhatFloatsYourBoat, a new global social media campaign for 2026 celebrating the people, passions and everyday moments that define the boating industry.

The initiative invites companies, professionals and enthusiasts from across the international boating community to share what inspires them about life and work on the water, from innovation in shipyards and yacht design studios to sunset moments on deck and adventure travel.

"With #WhatFloatsYourBoat, we wanted to create a campaign that celebrates the people behind the boating industry," said Dilan Saraç, Executive Director of The Superyacht Life Foundation. "Whether it's innovation in a shipyard, enjoying a quiet moment on the water, or a much-loved work colleague, everyone has something that floats their boat. By sharing these stories, we hope to show the world the fun, creative and human side of boating."

With a global network of shipyards, designers, manufacturers, marinas and crew working across oceans and coastlines worldwide, the boating sector is driven by a shared passion for the water. #WhatFloatsYourBoat invites those working within it to share the personal stories and moments that make their industry unique.

The campaign builds on the momentum of last year's #WaveForBoating initiative, which was a huge hit across the global boating community.

Participants are encouraged to post a photo or short video on social media explaining what "floats their boat." Posts should include the hashtag #WhatFloatsYourBoat and tag World Boating Day.

The campaign will run throughout 2026 in the lead-up to World Boating Day, the annual global celebration of the boating industry.

World Boating Day 2026 will be celebrated on 23 May, with events taking place throughout the week of 18-24 May/
