Charlie Dalin of the IMOCA MACIF Santé Prévoyance will not participate in the 2026 season

After reflection and in consultation with his medical team, Charlie Dalin has made the decision not to participate in the 2026 IMOCA circuit season and to focus fully on his recovery.
Sam Goodchild, the MACIF skipper for the 2027-2030 season, will therefore be the skipper of the MACIF Santé Prévoyance monohull from 2026 onwards in the major events of the IMOCA Globe Series, including in particular the Route du Rhum Destination Guadeloupe.
Charlie Dalin remains fully involved with the team. In 2026, he will continue his consulting work with the design office responsible for the design and construction of Sam Goodchild's future IMOCA, scheduled for launch next year. His expertise, acquired through numerous campaigns at the highest level, will continue to inform the project's daily performance, as well as future technical choices and strategic directions.
Charlie Dalin: "Not racing this season is a difficult decision, but a necessary one to focus on my health and recovery. Solo offshore sailing is currently prohibited for me, but I am still authorised to sail with a crew, which I will do alongside Sam Goodchild. I remain deeply committed to the MACIF Santé Prévoyance project and its future. My commitment to Sam and the technical team remains absolute. Together, we will continue to write the history of this boat and prepare the next one, with the same high standards and passion that have always driven me."
