SailGP have published the crew lists for Oracle Perth Sail Grand Prix, the opening event of Season 6, which will be contested this weekend in Fremantle.

The list is the first to be published since the close of the Transfer Window in early January.

Changes are marked by SailGP, however according to our research several of those were effected in Season 5, or are promotions from within the team. There are more than 23 changes, plus the addition of a new team (Artemis Racing). The new team is a mix of crews enticed from existing teams, as well as rather than substantial changes across all teams.

Red Bull Italy and Rockwool Denmark have the most changes (5), Black Foils (NZL), USA and Switzerland are showing zero changes, however the Kiwis have an unfilled coaching vacancy.

Most interest is around the debut of the 13th team, Artemis Racing, ostensibly from Sweden, but often disparagingly referred to as "Emirates Team New Zealand". There are four Kiwis in the Artemis Racing team including coach Sam Meech, who are part of the ETNZ sailing squad. Meech leaves a similar role with the Peter Burling skippered Black Foils. The Kiwis are now showing TBA (to be appointed) alongside their coaches role.

Leigh McMillan (GBR) has left Brazil and is showing on the French SailGP team. While he has been shown as a change he was replaced on the Brazilian boat for the Season 5 Grand Final in Abu Dhabi, along with Andy Maloney (NZL). Maloney is one of the ETNZ recruits on the new Swedish flagged Artemis Racing.

The USA team has Harry Melges 4 still listed as a reserve. Many expected the co-helm of the 2024 America's Cup Youth team and World Super 52 champion helmsman to be promoted.

Olympic Gold, Silver and Bronze medalist in the Laser/ILCA class Anne Marie Rindom (DEN) joins the Denmark team as a second strategist alongside Double Olympic Gold medalist Kahena Kunze.
