Top RS Aero Events to Look Forward to in 2026

Friendly, competitive and truly global - the RS Aero class has it all. With an incredible range of events on offer in 2026, spanning continents and conditions, the challenge isn't finding somewhere to race, but choosing where to go.

Thanks to the four rig sizes (RS Aero 5, 6, 7, and 9) sailors of all ages, weights and abilities can enjoy exciting, evenly matched racing. With so much happening - narrowing the calendar down to our top five RS Aero events was no easy task!

Salty Dingo RS Aero Australian Championships
When: 18-22 January 2026
Where: Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron, Melbourne, Australia

Ahead of hosting the RS Aero World Championship in January 2027, Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron will showcase what they can do by welcoming the fleet for the 2026 Australian National Championships. Set against golden sands and crystal-clear waters - often accompanied by visiting pods of dolphins - this stunning venue at the southern end of Port Phillip Bay is renowned for its reliable afternoon sea breezes of 14-20 knots. A fantastic way to begin the season!

RS Aero UK Women's Championship
When: 30-31 May 2026
Where: Hayling Island Sailing Club, Hampshire, United Kingdom

Whether you're a regular on the circuit or still thinking about joining the RS Aero class, this friendly and welcoming event is ideal for sailors of all ages and abilities. Designed to be fun, social, and inclusive, the UK Women's Championship truly reflects the strong sense of community at the heart of the RS Aero class.

RS Aero European and Youth World Championship (The RS Games)
When: 19-24 July 2026
Where: Travemünde, Germany

The RS Aero International Class is excited to be part of the RS Games, the largest celebration of RS Sailing, held every four years, this year at the iconic Travemünder Woche. This festival of RS Sailing is a must-attend event, hosting both the RS Aero European Championship and the RS Aero Youth World Championship within one of the biggest and most vibrant regattas in the world.

RS Aero UK National Championship & International Open
When: 28-31 August 2026
Where: Eastbourne Sovereign Sailing Club, East Sussex, United Kingdom

A highlight of the UK calendar, this regatta welcomes competitors from around the world for exciting racing on open sea off the East Sussex coast. Racing will take place for RS Aero 5, 6 and 7 fleets. (Please note: RS Aero 9s will contest their UK Nationals separately at Paignton Sailing Club, Devon, from 8-10 May 2026).

RS Fest San Francisco Bay
When: 05-07 September 2026
Where: Richmond Yacht Club, California, United States of America

RS Fest goes west! After two successful years in Miami, RS Fest heads to the West Coast for 2026. This multi-class RS event will see sailors racing on the iconic waters of San Francisco Bay, with spectacular scenery and challenging conditions guaranteed.
