LOOR unveils 2026 Race Season: Premier challenges and shorthanded events

Lake Ontario Offshore Racing (LOOR) is pleased to announce the complete 2026 race season calendar, featuring six Lake Ontario Shorthanded Racing Series (LOSHRS) events and two signature challenges.

"Long distance racing on Lake Ontario is something I recommend every sailor try," said Terence (Terry) Kuehn, LOOR chair. "Whether you're taking the first step of moving from local races to longer distance challenges or are an international competitor taking on extreme challenges, our races offer variety and opportunities for each type of racer."

"We've designed a season that builds skills, community, and unforgettable experiences on Lake Ontario," says Terry.

May 2026

May 29-30: Susan Hood Trophy Race (SHTR)
May 31: LOSHRS Race 1

June 2026

June 27: LOSHRS Race 2
June 28: LOSHRS Race 3

July 2026

July 10-14: Lake Ontario 300 Challenge Race (LO300)

August-September 2026

August 15-16: LOSHRS Race 4
September 19: LOSHRS Race 5
September 20: LOSHRS Race 6
