ILCA Team Racing European Championship 2025 at Yacht Club of Greece - Day 1

Race Day 1 of the 2025 EurILCA Team Racing European Championship kicked off with a bang! Twelve teams from nine countries, with a total of 48 sailors, took to the waters of Athens in conditions that tested their skills to the max.

With winds ranging from 12 to 18 knots, and waves growing from 1 meter to 2 meters high at the end of the day, it was an action-packed start to this historic event. The competition was fierce, and the energy was electric! Read on for a recap of an unforgettable first day on the water.

Day 1 Standings: Greece, Italy, and Sweden 2 Lead the Pack

20 races were held today, showcasing incredible skill and determination from all the teams!

The competition is heating up, with the leaders after Day 1 being Greece, Italy, and Sweden 2, all of whom won their 3 races.

In second place, we have France and Sweden 1, both securing victories in 2 out of 3 races.

In third place, Bulgaria and Lithuania each won 2 out of their 4 races, keeping the pressure on the top contenders.

Germany 1 and Germany 2 are in fourth place, each winning 1 out of their 3 races, while Serbia 2 holds fifth place, winning 1 out of 4 races.

At the bottom of the standings, Ireland (3 races lost) and Serbia 1 (4 races lost) are still searching for their first wins.

It's shaping up to be an exciting week ahead, with plenty of races left to go. Stay tuned for more updates as the teams battle it out for the top spots!
