British sailing apparel brand Henri-Lloyd is building on its popularity in Norway as its parent company, Monte Rosa Sport, opens two new retail stores in Bergen and Tromsø this month.
The stores will showcase Henri-Lloyd's award-winning marine apparel alongside Odlo, specialist manufacturer of base layers, and Janus, recognised for its high-quality wool and merino products.
These two new sites complement the company's flagship multi-brand store, which was opened in the centre of Oslo in early 2024, and mark a significant step in strengthening Monte Rosa's retail footprint across Norway.
Henri-Lloyd's Executive Chairman Knut Frostad says "Growing our brand internationally is a key strategy. Norway has a reputation for outdoor adventure, on land and at sea. Henri-Lloyd is already helping to increase sailing participation through our strategic alliance with the Royal Norwegian Yacht Club (KNS) and opening these two new multi-brand stores is the perfect way to bring our products to new and existing customers."
The Bergen store opened on November 7th, followed a week later by the shop in Tromsø opening on November 14th.
Bergen, Norway's second-largest city, and Tromsø were selected as ideal retail locations due to their strong cultural ties, rapidly growing tourism, and deep connection to outdoor life.
Bergen is known as the "Gateway to the Fjords," it is also just a short distance from the Janus knitting facility and headquarters in nearby Espeland, which dates back to 1895.
Tromsø has become a premier destination for Arctic adventures, and the new store will serve as a convenient shopping location for outdoor enthusiasts and visitors alike.
