Ghost ship with skeleton crew spotted in Durban

The summer sailing season officially got under way with the traditional Wednesday night Twilight Series supported by a small competitive fleet hitting the water.
Leading the yachts around the harbour was the yacht Bellissima. The team managed to have some spooky fun midrace, quickly throwing on some sheets and donning sunglasses to join the viral Halloween trend, while Clover the skeleton was hanging out from the boom. Durban's sailing community will be shaking off their winter cobwebs as they gear up for an exciting calendar of harbour and offshore sailing for dinghies and keelers for all ages. Point Yacht Club's Rear Commodores have been hard at work creating events for everyone. The season concludes celebrating the milestone year of the MSC Week in July. Going into its golden era, the annual offshore regatta will be passing its 50th year since it was first raced in the bay in 1976. After successfully hosting the Marriott Mirror Worlds in Durban this April, the Durban-based club is in planning stages for another two of their big events, their 135th birthday in 2027 and hosting the Flying 15 World Championships in a few years' time. Next Wednesday, the club will be hosting the Twilight Series and welcomes anyone who would like to learn the ropes of yachting.
