Following the enthusiastic response to June's Winter edition, the Get Onboard Boat Expo - Brisbane is returning once again for an exciting encore this 7th and 8th November at the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron, Manly.

Hosted in collaboration with Yachtshare, the only boat show held in Brisbane promises even more on and off-water exhibitors on the spectacular grounds of Queensland's largest marina and MIA Club of the Year. Exhibitors from yachts to fishing boats though to accessories such as inflatable pontoons and bimini covers will all be on display to cater for all boatie interests, and just in time for Summer.

Due to the significant interest at the inaugural edition earlier in 2025, the Summer Get Onboard Boat Expo has expanded to include displays from various sailing boat associations as well as the Squadron's own Sailing Academy and Youth Squad. This will enable visitors to see the various boat classes in action as well as to ask questions of the experts in each class.

The Boating Industry Association (BIA) is supporting the event both with a jobs stand on the lawns as well as a panel discussion open to the public, to demonstrate the huge variety of employment opportunities in the sector. Andrew Fielding, BIA CEO states;

"The marine industry in Australia directly employs over 27,500 people, from electricians through to tourism managers. We hope to educate visitors to the Get Onboard Boat Expo on the huge variety of careers on offer by sharing stories of people who work on or near the water."

This vibrant, community-focused event offers an engaging alternative to larger-scale boat shows by enabling visitors to not only board the on-water displays, but relax and enjoy time aboard each one and make a day of it in the renovated RQYS Bistro and lawns. Additionally, the "Treasures from the Bilge" carboot sale will provide a bounty of boating parts and accessories at a bargain price to the public.

The Get Onboard Boat Expo remains free to attend, and exhibitor fees are kept to a minimum to encourage wide participation. With over $3 million in product sold at the inaugural event, Brisbane's love of boating continues.

And the rest of the line is not toil and trouble, but quadruple, then another double… On the eve of the 100th Fastnet that has attracted some 464 entries, I heard of one entry in this record fleet that seemed so very apt.
