Given the weather conditions, the organization of TRANSAT CAFÉ L'OR Le Havre Normandie, in consultation with the sub-prefecture of Le Havre, has decided to close the village starting at 1:00 AM on Thursday, October 23rd (Wednesday night into Thursday) for the entire day.
According to the race meteorologist, Pierre-Yves Guillerm (Météo France):
"A strong gust of wind is expected on Thursday along the Normandy coast. Gusts could reach 90 to 100 km/h between early morning and mid-afternoon."
Depending on how the situation evolves, the village will reopen on Thursday evening or on Friday at 10:00 AM.
The organization will continue to welcome skippers, their teams, race partners, and media at the organizational and press headquarters.
Team sponsors are invited to contact the organization to arrange their operations safely and find a suitable location, depending on available space at the Carrée des Docks.
The only possible entrances for Thursday will be located on Rue Aviateur Guérin, behind the Carrée des Docks:
- ??*GATE 35* for skippers, teams, partners of the panoramic lounges, media*, and the organization
- ?*GATE 18* for hospitality operations (lounges, the lounge, and the chefs' bistro)
