10 members met at Barton's Point in perfect A rig conditions for the 2nd Autumn series regatta, with Ralph Wilkinson officiating. Adrian Tomlinson laid the course as Rob Owens overslept!

Peter Jackson used Mike Brand's normal tactic of winning the first race, from Mike and Paul Woodward, then also won the 3rd this time from Adrian and Paul. Adrian took race 2 from Mike & Dave Adams with a poor 6,3,6 start, but beating Rob Owens 7,6,9!

Adrian then slipped into gear with another 2nd then two wins before Dave got into his stride with 3,2,2,1,1 to close up on Adrian at the lunch break. Mike had been up and down like a yo-yo with a win in race 4, then 3,4,3,7 up to lunch. Paul, after some rig tweaks by Adrian, plugged in two more 3rd places to make it a consistent four 3rds by lunch. Peter stayed in the hunt with two 2nd places, until port tack start specialist Rob Owens took Peter out on the line causing 3 missed starts and the end of his challenge.

Adrian and Mike powered ahead after lunch with 3 more wins each plus three and two 2nd places and one 3rd respectively. Dave lagged with only 2 wins. Ed Coxon capitalised on the Owens/ Jackson hook up to take a 3rd in race 11. Rob came back with his own 3rd in race 12, but these were the only 2 podium visits by these two and the rest of the fleet.

Paul finished with two more 3rds, making six in all, but was 4 short of catching Peter in 4th place. Dave Adams finally came back strongly to finish 2,1,3,2,1, but could only match Mike on 28 points, failing to take 2nd on the tie-break. Adrian had cruised to overall victory by 6 points, and with six wins, despite a relaxed 3,2,7,2 final sequence.

Adrian and Dave now lead the series from Mike after two events.

Results:

1. 30 Adrian Tomlinson
2. 875 Mike Brand
3. 358 Dave Adams
4. 211 Peter Jackson
5. 20 Paul Woodward
6. 07 Edward Coxon
7. 479 Robert Owens
