SEA.AI, the global leader in advanced marine vision systems, is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Middleton as Head of Global Sales. Middleton brings more than two decades of international experience in maritime technology and communications, with a career dedicated to improving safety and sustainability at sea.

Middleton began his maritime career at Weathernews Inc., a Tokyo Stock Exchange-listed company providing optimum ship routing for safer and more fuel-efficient voyages, inspired by the company's founder, who started the company after an explosive low pressure system hit a vessel and the port of Onahama in Japan.

Middleton developed a lifelong commitment to protecting lives at sea and sustainability. He went on to serve as Vice-President of Sales for S5 Agency World, overseeing global sales of port agency services, and later as Sales Director EMEA and ASPAC Offshore Energy and Regional Director for North Europe at Inmarsat, where he led satellite communications solutions to maritime customers.

"SEA.AI is at the forefront of a transformation in the commercial, governmental and recreational maritime industries," said Middleton.

"Offering AI-driven collision avoidance and risk reduction within these rapidly digitalizing markets is incredibly exciting. Together with our partners, we have a mission to save lives at sea by unlocking enhanced situational awareness for all vessels in all sectors."

"Scott's background in maritime safety, satellite communications, and global sales leadership is an ideal match for SEA.AI's ambitions," said Marcus Warrelmann, CEO of SEA.AI. "He brings both the expertise and the passion to help us scale into new markets while staying true to our mission of saving lives at sea."

A passionate scuba diver with a lifelong connection to the ocean, Middleton says he is motivated by both the human and environmental impact of SEA.AI's technology.

"Whether it's preventing collisions, avoiding whale strikes, or enabling more efficient routing, SEA.AI's machine vision solutions deliver tangible value for customers and society," he added.

Middleton will represent SEA.AI at major industry events including METSTRADE and others.
