As part of the Royal Ocean Racing Club centenary, alongside the headline events the Rolex Fastnet Race and the revived Admiral's Cup, the Centenary Race has been designed as a celebration to conclude the racing programme in the Solent, together with an after-party at the RORC Cowes Clubhouse.

On 20 September, with the RORC Season's Points Championship wrapped up, the Centenary Race will bring the fleet together for a unique pursuit race. The slower boats start first, the faster ones last, with the aim of everyone finishing together after 4-6 hours of racing. The course will be set for fairness, using tides and forecasts to send the fleet either west to Christchurch Bay or east towards Selsey Bill.

The big finish will see crews race back to Cowes, ready for drinks and a BBQ at the RORC Clubhouse. Salcombe Gin will be providing complimentary cocktails from 18:30. Trophies from the RORC centenary season, RORC medallions medals and Salcombe Gin prizes will be awarded — rounding off the Centenary celebrations in style.

As always, the RORC Cowes Clubhouse welcomes members and their guests to join in the centenary celebrations at the RORC Cowes Clubhouse and enjoy a Salcombe Gin & Tonic. Pre-booking for the Centenary Race BBQ is at 80% of capacity.
