Scorpion Welsh Championship at Bala Sailing Club

by Steve Walker 16 Sep 2025 06:28 BST 13-14 September 2025

Firstly, a big thank you to Bala Sailing Club for hosting the event, first class race management, safety, galley and bar.

A weekend that had lots of weather and wind, gave for exciting reaches and sometimes pretty shifty conditions. Timed to perfection before the storm hit on Sunday afternoon.

A competitive fleet with 4 different race winners across the 6 races. Nothing could be guaranteed with the result, until you got across the finish line.

Well done to all for providing some excellent racing.

Call out to Jack Jones in 1947 for being first junior, a welcome to the fleet for Jason Cahill / Kerry Webb in 1920 and to Phill Dyne who enjoyed it so much, he is going back on Tuesday to pick up his kit bag he left in the changing room.
