Australian Bass and Estuary Perch can once again be taken by recreational fishers in NSW, following the conclusion of the annual three-month breeding season fishing closure.?
With the spawning season now behind us, anglers are encouraged to wet a line and experience the thrill of catching these iconic native fish.
Fishers are reminded a bag limit of 2 and possession limit of 4 applies to Australian Bass and Estuary Perch, either for a single species or a combination of both species. When fishing in rivers, only one fish is permitted to be over 35cm in length.
DPIRD will also commence the stocking of Australian Bass during October in impoundments across the State, including key fisheries such as Toonumbar Dam and Clarrie Hall Dam in northern NSW, Glenbawn Dam and Lake St Clair in the Hunter region and Tallowa Dam and Brogo Dam in the State's south.
