UpWind by MerConcept and The Magenta Project are proud to announce the launch of the first Multihull Immersion Clinic, a pioneering initiative to support gender equity in offshore multihull racing.
The clinic will take place in September 2025, combining remote workshops and a three-day in-person experience in Lorient, France, during the 24h Ultim Race.
This program is made possible thanks to the support of 11th Hour Racing, Founding Sponsor of the Upwind by MerConcept initiative, and leader in advancing sustainability and gender equity across the sailing and maritime sectors. The clinic is designed to provide technical, tactical, and leadership development, while creating new career pathways into elite offshore racing. Three participants will be selected from The Magenta Project and UpWind communities to sail on board a high-performance Ocean Fifty trimaran, train with the UpWind team, and receive mentorship from experienced professionals in the sport.
"We believe that building a more inclusive future for offshore racing means providing tangible opportunities to gain experience and visibility. This clinic is a concrete step in that direction," said Louis Giard, team manager of UpWind by MerConcept.
The Multihull Immersion Clinic includes:
- Remote technical and leadership workshops (early-mid September)
- Three days onsite in Lorient (September 25-27, 2025), including boat preparation, Ocean Fifty speed runs, and active presence in the 24h Ultim Race
- A professional development certificate jointly issued by UpWind by MerConcept and The Magenta Project
Applications are open through September 8th, and the link will be available shortly.
This program is part of a broader commitment by UpWind by MerConcept, The Magenta Project, and 11th Hour Racing to create a more inclusive, sustainable, and diverse future in offshore racing.
